Last week’s "Soaring Eagle” in 1st grade was Leighla Smith! We worked for a couple weeks on the same goal: follow directions quickly. Leighla does not waste her learning time and listens well to directions. She got to take our eagle home over the weekend and is now added to our "soaring eagle" display in the hallway. 🦅 💙

Congratulations to Olivia Smith for placing first at the district level for her Patriot's Pen Essay! Today at the VFW District 15 Banquet, Olivia was honored with the opportunity to read her essay to our veterans, a District 15 first place plaque, and a financial gift. In addition, she was presented with a proclamation and a flag flown over the Missouri Capitol in her honor by Representative Barry Hovis on behalf of Representative David Dolan. Olivia also learned she is the first-place winner for the entire state of Missouri and will be honored again at a banquet at Lake of the Ozarks in February. We are so proud of her achievement and dedication.

Today in counseling, students learned an important lesson: once words are said, they can’t be taken back. Through a simple activity, they explored how words can impact others and why choosing kindness matters. 💙

Our first graders had so much fun learning how Germany celebrates Christmas and then putting that learning into action by making their very own gingerbread houses! 🎄🏠 A sweet way to explore traditions from around the world.
